I have heard of what you are talking about pambrocio. Scientists actually sped a single electron up to the speed of light and it disappeared for several seconds and then reappeared. They think that it might have travelled forward in time. Not sure about backward though.

I love that theory. It is so cool it isnt funny. The idea that every time we make a decision an alternate universe is created. For example: I fall and break my leg, there is another universe created instantly that is the same up until the point when I broke my leg. Only in this new universe I dont break my leg. Crazy stuff man.

One time I heard that theory was on an episode of Red Dwarf where Arnold Rimmer meets Ace Rimmer his alternate self from a parrallel universe!

I think that is an element of quantum theory. The cat experiment plays with the concept of an alternate universe being created when the cat is exposed to the radiation.

Um, are you talking about Schrodinger's cat? That's just a thought-experiment used to demonstrate how counter-intuitive the quantum mechanics' perspective is to everyday thinking--that since it's unknown whether the cat is dead or alive, quantum mechanics would say it's both.

Since observing an electron could change whether it's behaving as a particle or a wave--since it can do both--the closest we can get is an estimate of probability.

Here's an interesting example given by Stephen Hawking.

Imagine the rules of quantum physics to be like a genie
in a bottle. You can ask him anything you want.

Ask him to prove the statement: All centaurs are green.
He'll look for any centaurs that aren't green.
Not finding any he'll say that the statement is true.
Now there aren't any centaurs at all, so this is rather funny.

Photon's are like that too. They can be particles or waves.
And I don't think an alternate universe was created by the experiment.
An alternate timeline was created,
just like this one except for the fact that the cat was dead.

time is a thing out of our reach, see there wouldnt be such thing as time if some noob didnt think of it. there is no such thing as time. there would be no days if some noob didnt make it up. time is just another measurement originally used for meetings.

I do not believe in time travel. If we were to stop the Earth from orbiting the Sun, then there would thus be no days for us to measure. However we would still age, and so surely time would continue. If we are not able to stop time, how could we possibly travel to other moments. How could one build a time machine? I do not believe that technology now and in the future could influence the space/time continum in such a way that time travel would become possible.

So saying that you dont think it is possible isnt a valid arguement really.
A real arguement would be something like if time travel were possible in ant time then why haven't people come here from the future?

There is no such thing as time. I think that Humans base everything on what we actually see ourselves. Five minutes ago just happened then, now, and next. I also feel that this means also that there is no such thing as big or small. All things are infinitely big and infinitely small. We live life by what are mind perceives. But what is our mind, a bunch of chemical reactions if you will? And what is a chemical reaction. And what is the answer to that question?
