about happiness

He means that ideologically, they are enemies, or at least opposing forces, but socially, they are friends.

I think that what makes one happy is something they think will make them happy.

I'm sorry, can you run that by me again?

I think Hitler should have stuck with painting.

Happiness is always a by-product. It is probably a matter of temperament, and for anything I know it may be glandular. But it is not something that can be demanded from life, and if you are not happy you had better stop worrying about it and see what treasures you can pluck from your own brand of unhappiness.
- Robertson Davies

I saw that on my google personalized homepage and thought it deserved a post here, pretty good observation.

I have never read Mein Kampf. If you have, you may be working from a more accurate P.O.V. than I am. But I should remind you that something is not necessarily true just because someone wrote it. :) I'm not saying that's proof that he didn't believe what he was saying, just that the evidence I've seen that he actually believed those things is a little wanting... not that I find it tremendously important one way or another.

But I think it would be true if someone wrote that about themselves. This is the autobiography of Hitler, man.

If ever there was a time to lie, it would be in your autobiography. :D

I agree with that.
I have absolutely no desire
to let other people know about
my many past mistakes.

The good thing about making lots of mistakes
is if you have the foresight you need you won't
ever make those same mistakes ever again.

a man can make a moral desision, because it is moral, and it could manke him deeply sad. i am not happy with being clever, enogh to make people hate me, but i still work hard because i want to be an asto physisist. if i don get to be one, i will still be unhappy. i dont work to make myself happy. i work to be better than anyone else at what i do.

Live in the darkness and laugh at the stupidity. Speak in whisper, run the stage, make endless jokes and the truest of friends. Love what you do, and make it your passion. Crew = Life and Life = Love.
