Do you consider yourself a nerd or a geek?

Going by my definition, I'm a nerd.

To me a nerd is a person who enjoys math, science, technology stuff, etc. Although they enjoy these things, they are still accepted by there peers and enjoy a nice social life.

A geek on the other hand (according to me) enjoys all these things, yet they are socially inept, and are sometimes conceited and arrogant.

Going by your definition I am deffinatly a nerd...but on the contrary geek sounds better with certain catigories...such as band geek vs. band nerd and theater geek vs. theater nerd.. in which case i am all of the above (ie a nerd, a band geek and a theater geek (to which we prefer to be called theater freaks (well sometimes)))

That's true, I was just saying overall nerd or overall geek though. I too am a band geek...Hahaha, the shirt I'm wearing right now even says 'BAND GEEK' on it.

I think geeks are people who are obsessed with certain subject/s and are very good at the subject/s they are obsessed about and that a nerd is someone who loves knowledge in general and spends a great deal of their life trying to learn more. It's possible for both nerds and gekks to be socially inept in my opinion.

According to YOUR definitions, a geek is just a nerd--and also a jerk. Who would admit to falling into a category like that??
