Well, I wouldn't say that's entirely accurate. Americans are pretty dumb, but mainly we've just become complacent and submissive because corporations flood us with 24-hour consumerism. He actually lost both elections, and would've lost both by a lot more had our government not pulled several different scams (purposely not placing voting machines in Democrat areas, outright voter fraud through privately-owned electronic voting machines, etc.).
Our weak, television-hypnotized minds find symbolic acts like two-party elections pretty convincing. Though actually, I'm not really convinced we would've done anything even if a military junta had suddenly seized control of the government and didn't even pretend to try using political methods to gain power. We're just too damn comfortable. The poor are too uneducated to understand when they're being taken advantage of, and the middle-class has practically become a miniature imperialist paradise, where you can buy anything built in the third-world for cheap, cheap, cheap! So why rock the boat over silly things like democracy and justice? As long as we can maintain our bizarre illusion that people in America live a happier life than everywhere else on the planet just because we can afford to buy twelve televisions and an inefficient SUV...
wow, damn, let me get off my soapbox now. I just woke up; sorry for the rant.
